1 The Challenge
Niji Group, a multi-billion naira conglomerate with 7 business units (feedmill, foods, farms, hotel, engineering, laser operations), was managing procurement manually across departments. This led to delayed approvals, no budget visibility, difficulty tracking requests, and zero audit trail for financial compliance. The CEO had no centralized view of company-wide spending.
2 Our Solution
We built a comprehensive Django-based procurement management system with multi-phase approval workflows (SUBMITTED → MANAGEMENT_REVIEW → FINAL_APPROVAL → PAYMENT_PENDING → COMPLETED → ACKNOWLEDGED), role-based access for CEO, Directors, Accountants, Managers, and HODs, real-time budget tracking with automated warnings, SMS notifications via Termii API, bank disbursement tracking, and comprehensive audit trails. The system handles high-value request escalation with CEO call requirements for purchases over ₦100,000.
3 The Results
40x performance improvement through strategic database indexing. Security score improved from 20/100 to 90/100. 180+ automated tests covering all workflows. Real-time visibility for the CEO across all 7 business units. Reduced procurement cycle time by 60%. Full audit compliance for financial reporting.
